**The ACTUAL parade will begin at 6:10pm SHARP till 8:30ish (including clean-up)

SHIFTS
2:25-5pm TAPING STREETS you will assist Todd in placing red duct tape on the street in the designated areas indicated on the map (2~3 people)
3:00-end of parade SCOUT ALLEY you will assist Victor Bustillos in setting up the area, checking-in and maintaining order until the scout groups enter the parade route. (2 people)
5:00-end of parade BANNER CARRIER you will carry a banner with another person (you may choose your other partner but MUST let Todd Hessick know upon checking-in @ 5:00) (6 people)

Spooktacular cancelled
Due to scaling down of Spooktacular this year, we cannot volunteer at the Spooktacular event.

FIRST GENERAL MEETING
The big day is almost here!!
The first general meeting of this year will be on
Thursday, October 9 during lunch in Ms. Chaplar's room.
This room is hard to find, but it is on the first floor of the 1000 building(the one with the main office in it). The first floor is underneath the office, and you enter it from the quad. Our officers will be posted, so if you have troubling finding the room, please feel free to ask them.
Bring your APPLICATION and $15 dues.
If you cannot pay it by then, you can pay the next week during snack and lunch.

Fundraiser
GOOD NEWS KEY CLUBBERS!!!
We had 2 big fundraisers over the summer: Project Lemonade and Coldstones.
So far we have raised $261.65!!!!!
Thanks to those who all helped out.
We are going to donate $150 to our division. That still leaves us with more than a hundred dollars to jumpstart the year.
We're all excited to see you when school starts!

Volunteer Sign ups
We need Key Clubbers to volunteer at The Fifth Annual Glendale Open Studio Tour!
It is organized by the City of Glendale, exhibiting artists from the area and their art.
We need volunteers for Sat, 9/13/08 from 2-5
at the Brand Art Galleries(1601 W. Mountain St. Glendale CA 91201.
We are going to set up and clean up, sign people in, and monitor the food table.
On Sunday 9/14/08, you can work 4 hour shifts (10-2 and 2-6) to help set up, greet people, and provide direction.

School is almost over but we have 1 NEW GREAT EVENT on June 21 (Saturday).
There is a concert with dinner and silent auction in a LUXURIOUS & FANCY estate.
It will be at Bradbury(gated community off 210 at Mountain Ave) from 5:30/6:00 to 10:00/10:30.
10 lucky volunteers will get FOOD!!!!!
Dress attire is formal(suits/ dresses).

The 8th Annual Foothills Relay For Life will start at 9 a.m. on the 17th and finish at 9 a.m. on the 18th at Clark Magnet High School (4747 New York Ave.La Crescenta, CA 91214).
The Opening Ceremony and Survivor's Lap will take place at 10 a.m. on the 17th. The Luminaria Ceremony will take place at 9 p.m. on the 17th.

Hey guys!
Remember our AWESOME CVHS key club's voting on the date for this AWESOME banquet?
Well! Majority of our club said the first day of summer vacation, but majority of the DIVISION has spoken! Hence, the FINAL date is June 13, 2008!!! I'm sorry for those who had the music banquet on this day, but PLEASE try to attend BEFORE or AFTER even for a LITTLE while!!!!!! MAYDAY MAYDAY
Hey everyone!!
Today was the first o8-o9 meeting!! woot ~
Really it was ABSOLUTELY amazing to see all of you there this late in the year. Your commitment to this club ABSOLUTELY inspires me, so KEEP IT UP with all of May's many projects and events!!!
Here are some divisional updates:
1) If you are interested in an officer position, it's not too late! Our LTG needs a dedicated member to apply for Executive Assistant or Divisional Secretary! E-mail me for more info or apps (due MAY 10th)!!! Way to representtttt~~

Officer Descriptions
MEP Chair
The Major Emphasis Project chair must incorporate the 4 Seasons of Service into his/her Key Club by planning projects that go along with the Seasons. For example, the fall season of service is UNICEF, so the MEP chair has to plan projects that go along with the UNICEF season, such as Trick or Treat for UNICEF. In addition, every two years there is a new Service Initiative that the Kiwanis International decides that has a special focus on a particular issue, such as High Five for Health, this year's initiative. The MEP chair must also create projects that use this service initiative to make a difference in his/her community.
Publicist
There are usually two publicists that work together in Key Club. One publicist regulates and updates the Key Club Corner(s) in each adviser's room, while the other publicist circulates CVTV bulletin notices and flyers around campus.
Grade Representatives
The Grade Representatives are responsible for notifying all your grade Key Club members concerning upcoming meetings, events and other important announcements. The notifications usually come in the form of e-mails, though feel free to be as creative as you want! He or she is also responsible for attending and actively participating in the officer and general Key Club meetings.
Bulletin Editor
The Bulletin Editor manages and updates the Key Club website every two weeks (with the general meeting announcements). These updates include the project sheets, etc. He or she is also responsible to make a bulletin every month to give out at general meetings.
Project Chair
The Project Chair thinks of new events and helps organize them. This job position is usually filled by 2 co-chairmen and is often responsible for contacting other organizations to make arrangements. It requires responsibility, good organizational skills, and creativity.
Spirit Chair
What is Spirit Chair, anyway? This officer position DEMANDS energy, enthusiasm, and dedication; one that will channel our members to spreading even further the spirit of Crescenta Valley High School Key Club, the spirit of giving back to the community, the spirit of volunteering. The Spirit Chair will lead all cheers at general meetings and be greatly involved with getting our members "PUMPED UP" for Fall Rally and Convention.
Secretary
The Secretary is in charge of filling out the Monthly Report Form(MRF) and sending it to the current LTG, District Secretary, KC President and advisor(s). The Secretary must also keeps track of strikes. If no members write articles for the month, the Secretary is obligated to write two(2) articles his/herself and send them to the LTG. Finally, the Secretary is responsible for compiling a complete Key Club Member Roster, with help from Grade Reps. These articles are sent to the LTG as well.
Kiwanis Family Chair
A Kiwanis Family Chair devotes their time (once a month) to visit the local Montrose- La Crescenta Kiwanis. You must attend once a month and keep communications between CV's Key Club and Kiwanis strong, at the meetings you must keep them updated with projects and events that occur at our key club. You are also responsible to organize Kiwanis takeovers once or twice a year. For this position you must be able to prove that you have transportation during lunch and availability to miss part of your 5th period class (its worth it you get a free lunch!).
VP
The vice president is responsible to help the President with his/her duties. He or she is in charge of reserving event locations.
Historian
The historian is expected to go to many events and take pictures there. He or she must email these photos to the bulletin editor, president, and LTG every month. A scrapbook capturing the year can also be made.
President
The President is in charge of leading the entire club. Along with the project chairs, he or she finds projects. The president holds general meetings every 2 weeks and officer meetings every 2 weeks. He or she is responsible for overseeing all of the projects and making project sheets for every meeting.
